Gathering PlaceThrow back to your school days! It's PowerPoint Night at the library. Theme: Personal Obsessions. Take the stage for 3 minutes of fame, or just come to watch. Presenter space is limited.

Have a passion you want to share? A skill to teach? A vacation that deserves its own documentary? This is your moment.

3-Minute Powerpoint (PPT) Night is a fun, social evening where community members take the stage and present on any topic they love — in just 3 minutes, with slides. Think school presentation vibes: bring your cue cards, channel the 90s with your formatting, and if your topic calls for a costume, we are absolutely here for it.
How it Works:
- Each presenter gets 3 minutes to shine, followed by one audience question.
- At the end of the night, the audience votes — by applause — for their favourites across five categories: best argument, funniest slide, biggest plot twist, most creative PPT, and most engaging presenter.
- Space is limited to 12 presenters.
Presenting? Here's what you need to know:
- Aim for around 10–15 slides — enough to fill 3 minutes without rushing.
- Slides must be images and text only — no videos.
- Submit as a PDF (preferred) or PPTX file. If you're using Canva, Google Slides, or another cloud app, simply export to PDF before submitting. This ensures your slides load and display smoothly on our end — no technical surprises on the night.
- Submit your slides at least 3 days before the event to askus@barrielibrary.ca
- All submissions are reviewed in advance. Content must follow the Library's Patron Conduct Policy and be appropriate for a general public audience.
- This is a night for personal passions and stories — please keep presentations non-commercial in nature.
- The Library will provide a laptop, microphone, podium, and screen — just bring yourself and your speaking notes.
