*This is not a language course, it is a group conversation. It is not intended to meet any PR requirements.
Please only register yourself in one of the following groups:
- French Basics for Beginners (in partnership with Collège Boréal),
- Speak French: for Beginners (BPL volunteer facilitator),
- French for Intermediate Speakers - Formerly Parlez-vous French? (in partnership with Collège Boréal), or
- French Connexion: for Intermediate to Advanced French speakers (in partnership with Collège Boréal).

A fun, supportive library conversation group to build confidence speaking French for everyday life. Are you curious about French and want to start speaking in a friendly way. Speak French for Beginners is a for those that have a little exposure to French. Maybe you know bonjour, merci, or other small words, but want to do more.
The focus is on conversation, not grammar, so you can build confidence using French in real life. Mistakes are welcome it's how we learn! No books or homework needed, just come ready to speak and have fun.

Our Painswick Branch is located in the south end of Barrie, near the corner of Big Bay Point Road and Yonge Street. The building and facilities are fully accessible. Enjoy the bright and sunny reading lounge, use our complimentary wifi, experiment with technology and maker tools, or book a room for your next event.
