This session, led by a registered nurse and registered dietitian who are both Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) at the Barrie Community Health Center, will explain what Type 2 Diabetes is, how it develops, and how it is diagnosed using common clinical tests. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies for managing diabetes through lifestyle changes such as nutrition and physical activity, as well as the role of medications in blood glucose control. The presentation emphasizes practical, patient-centred approaches to effective diabetes management.
