Massie Family Community RoomFern Taillefer will share stories and personal reflections from his years of military service, as well as experiences from his journey since leaving the military to date.
About the Presenter:
Fern Taillefer is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping, Central Ontario Chapter, and currently serves as President of the Association. He also serves as the National Vice President of the Peacekeeping Association.
For the past 22 years, Fern has been the Chief Organizer of the highly attended Peacekeepers Parade and ceremonies held annually in the village of Angus. His dedication to honouring and supporting veterans is reflected in his many years of service to the veteran community.
Fern also serves as Parade Marshal for the Barrie Legion, leading the annual Remembrance Day parade through downtown Barrie every November 11th, as well as the Battle of the Atlantic and D-Day commemorative ceremonies.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Fern serves as the Legion’s Veteran Services Officer, President, and Poppy Chairman. He is also a member of the Barrie Veterans Club and serves on the executive of the Canadian Airborne Forces Association as Second Vice President.
Fern is a lifetime member of both the NATO Association and the Algonquin Regiment Association. Through his extensive volunteer service, leadership, and commitment to remembrance, he has made a significant and lasting contribution to veterans, peacekeeping, and the broader community.

Our Painswick Branch is located in the south end of Barrie, near the corner of Big Bay Point Road and Yonge Street. The building and facilities are fully accessible.
