Not Now AI: Taking Back Control
Everyday AI series
Tuesday, September 22
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Downtown Branch
Gathering PlaceAI chatbots and features are showing up everywhere: your search bar, inbox, & camera roll, often uninvited. Learn what's happening and how to limit their use. Bring your device to practice!

This session breaks down what's actually happening when you use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Meta AI: how they work, why people find them useful, and why others want nothing to do with them.
Then we get hands-on. Bring your phone or tablet and we'll walk through as a group real, current steps to mute, hide, or limit AI features on the platforms you already use, Google, Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), Android, and iPhone. You'll leave with a printed quick-reference guide so you can keep adjusting settings at home.
Most companies don't offer a true "off" switch for AI anymore, it's built into search, messaging, and photos by default. This session won't promise to erase AI from your life. What it will give you is a clearer picture of where AI shows up, why it's there, and the real levers you have to dial it back, so the choice feels like yours again.
No tech experience needed.
