Reading GardenJoin us for our first ever Silent Reading event! Bring a Simcoe Reads title or any book you like, enjoy our beautiful rooftop garden and the chance to silently read with others.
Our incredible rooftop "Reading" Garden is located at our Downtown Library. It offers a quiet, tranquil and lovely place to relax and read! The first 45 minutes of this event is dedicated to you and your book, giving you time to enjoy your surroundings and the tranquil environment our rooftop creates. If you wish to stay on, we will finish out the night with an informal mix and mingle where we talk about the Simcoe Reads books featured this year.
It's a great opportunity unwind and if you wish, to learning more about Simcoe Reads, the books featured this year and our Grand Finale which will be at the General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre on Sept 29th, 2026.

Downtown Branch
Our Downtown Branch is centrally located in the Downtown core at the corner of Worsley and Owen Streets. The building and facilities are fully accessible. Enjoy a beverage or a small snack from our Café located inside the lobby, use our complimentary wifi, experiment with technology and maker tools, or soak up the sun on our Rooftop Reading Garden.
