Eight Simcoe County libraries are squaring off against each other in a cover-to-cover competition this year: Barrie, Essa, Innisfil, Midland, New Tecumseth, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Severn and Ramara. Based on Canada Reads, each library has selected a recent Canadian book and a local celebrity champion. It's time to pick your favourite, come enjoy the debate, and vote to decide which book will be crowned the winner.

This year's event will be hosted by New Tecumseth Public Library and will be held at The Gibson Centre for Community, Arts and Culture in Alliston on October 23, 2025 at 6:30pm. It will also be livestreamed via the venue on Facebook.

Eight amazing books with be represented by 8 amazing champions. Come out and enjoy a fun-filled night of book-loving fun where the champions will each defend their books in the hopes of becoming the next Simcoe Reads champion.

• New Tecumseth Public Library - You Are the Medicine by Asha Frost
• Ramara Public Library - The Paris Express by Emma Donoghue
• Severn Public Library - The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar
