Additional Residential Units - What you need to know

Massie Family Community RoomThinking of creating an Additional Residential Unit (ARU) on your property? If so, this event is for you! Come join experts from the City of Barrie's Planning and Building teams to learn more.
City Staff will provide information on:
- Planning your unit - What are the ARU planning and zoning requirements
- Building your unit - What are the building permit and inspection requirements for second suites (inside your home) and detached additional residential units (a separate unit on your property)
- Financing - Where and how to find available ARU funding options
If you are unable to attend this session, the City will once again be hosting this workshop at our Downtown location on November 6th from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

Seating is limited so registration is encouraged to guarantee your spot but drop-ins are also welcome if space is available.

Our Painswick Branch is located in the south end of Barrie, near the corner of Big Bay Point Road and Yonge Street. The building and facilities are fully accessible.
