Losing someone important to us can be emotionally devastating - whether that be a partner, family member, friend or pet. While it's an inevitable part of life—something that virtually all of us go through at some point—losing someone you love can be one of the most painful experiences you'll ever have to endure.
Amy Pritzker has worked in Hospice Palliative Care for the past 13 years. She has been part of the Community Support Team at Hospice Simcoe for the past four years, serving as a Bereavement Coordinator at the Bell Farm Location. She is also part of the Advance Care Planning Champions Community of Practice through Hospice Palliative Care Ontario.
Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University and completed her Master’s in social work through the University of Victoria. In 2005 she completed the Spiritual Formation program through Carey Theological College in Vancouver, BC.
Before working in Hospice Palliative Care, Amy worked in Housing, Child Welfare and Domestic Violence. In her current role at Hospice, she provides information to individuals, groups and organizations to help them navigate the messiness of illness, dying and grief. She also facilitates groups for grieving individuals, supporting them as they move through loss and trauma into post-traumatic growth.
