About Barrie Public Library's Simcoe Reads 2023 Book

How to Find Your Calm: Finding Presence and Productivity in Anxious Times is written by Chris Bailey who has been intensively researching and experimenting with productivity since he was a young teenager, in an effort to discover how to become as productive as humanly possible. To date, he has written hundreds of articles on the subject, and has garnered coverage in media as diverse as The New York Times , Wall Street Journal , GQ , Huffington Post , New York Magazine , Harvard Business Review , TED, Fast Company , and Lifehacker . The author of The Productivity Project and Hyperfocus , Bailey lives in Ottawa, Ontario. His blog is ALifeofProductivity.com.

How to Calm Your Mind is a crucial guide to achieving calm, navigating anxiety, and staving off burnout. It explains how our digital world drains us, and what we can do to abate the hidden sources of stress that burden our days. By embracing the analog world and “stimulation fasts,” using the science of “savoring” to become more focused and present and relaxing without guilt, investing in calm might be the best productivity strategy around.
