Participants will learn about the costs involved in purchasing and maintaining a home.

Register to Attend Online - Click on Register Button. Minimum registration required is 20 people.


Participants will also learn what is required to qualify for a mortgage and decide whether renting or owning is better for them.


Simcoe Credit Counselling Society Series: The Barrie Public Library has partnered with nine local libraries (Bradford West Gwillimbury, Clearview, Collingwood, Innisfil ideaLab, Midland, New Tecumseth, Ramara, Tay Township, and Wasaga Beach) to offer a 2022 financial talk series.


The Credit Counselling Society is committed to teaching Canadians the basics about money management in a fun, engaging, non-judgmental way. The Credit Counselling Society is an accredited non-profit charity that helps Canadians solve their money problems. They do this by providing free credit counselling, low-cost debt solutions, and education to help you manage your money better. Their goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools for building the financial success that everyone deserves. They’re here to help you through your difficult times and towards a better future.


Video Conference Programs:  

Allows you to enjoy real-time video chat with library staff and other registered participants. When joining, you have the option to connect with audio only, but it is encouraged to allow audio and video to get the most out of the program. Please note that you will be sent an email with the Zoom conference link prior to the start of the program. You will need this link to join the program.

We ask that all participants conduct themselves respectfully, and adhere to the Patron Conduct Policy.
