Come ready to bring your story to life for your audience using performance & voice techniques. Word Up Barrie's workshop for authors & aspiring writers is facilitated by actor & director Scott Hurst.
BECOMING A BETTER STORYTELLER
The *first 10 registrants will have the opportunity to do a 5-minute reading and receive feedback. *You will be contacted to confirm your interest in presenting a reading.
Actor, writer, director, acting coach and storyteller, Scott Hurst, believes the words of Charles Laughton, who once said, “To become a good storyteller you simply tell stories you love, to people you love”. He’s come to help us get comfortable with the sound of our own voice; to speak quietly, loudly, pleasantly, irritatingly, quickly, slowly, and to express the intention behind our words allowing our stories to come to life in the minds of our audience.
