About Fox and Squirrel Helps out:
When a baby bat drops in from out of the sky, Fox is immediately taken with the soft, sweet creature and rushes to take care of it. Squirrel is less sure this is a welcome intrusion. The new squeaky stranger can't keep up with all their favourite activities and doesn't seem to realize how fun Squirrel can be. Can Fox and Squirrel come together to figure out what Squeak needs?
About Speaking of Wildlife
Speaking of Wildlife was established in 1989 with a goal to educate the public about nature and wildlife in an interactive and exciting way. By 2000, Speaking of Wildlife had become a leader in the realm of live-animal outreach and was expanding with the creation of the Muskoka Wildlife Centre, a wildlife education centre that would be open to the public and allow visitors to experience the Canadian Shield, scenic trails and Ontario's wildlife all in one place! The centre quickly became an important local resource and a gem to those visiting the Muskoka area; welcoming over 300,000 visitors in just 13 years and reaching hundreds of thousands more through its well-established outreach program. While the centre closed its doors in 2013, its passionate staff simply could not let this resource disappear; Speaking of Wildlife continued, independently and under the direction of long-time Muskoka Wildlife Centre staff, to deliver its acclaimed educational programs with many of its seasoned Wildlife Ambassadors (some may remember wildlife legends such as Clover the Groundhog, Luna the Northern Saw-Whet Owl, Sam the Snapping Turtle and Quillber the Porcupine).
Though the faces may have changed over the years, from Speaking of Wildlife to the Muskoka Wildlife Centre and back again, our mission remains the same.... to provide permanent sanctuary to animals that cannot survive in the wild, deliver up-close encounters with Ontario wildlife and to provide a lasting experience that is enlightening, inspiring and entertaining.
