Eric Pouliot-Thisdale will discuss the information contained in the registers and associated censuses as well as the changes in family names from 1880 to 1921; from traditional names to names formulas with English and French connotations.

About Eric:
Eric Pouliot-Thisdale holding a Bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Social Science from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is currently working for the Department of Demography at the Université de Montréal (UDeM) as a researcher.
He conducted various researches for the past 20 years in the field of public, historical, political and demographic archives from various sources, he has conducted various research for Band Councils in Quebec and for various Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organizations in Canada in historical and sociological matters.
He previously contributed to the Kahnawake weekly newspaper, The Eastern Door, from 2015 to 2018, and he also managed reports for lawyer firms involving federal and provincial jurisdiction over aboriginal rights.
