The Hospital for Sick Children conducted a large study on over 1000 parents of children and youth between April and June 2020. Their survey focused on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated health measures on youths’ mental health. Their survey revealed that at least two thirds of youth experienced an increase in struggles with either depression, anxiety, attention, hyperactivity, obsessions/compulsions, or a combination of these symptoms.

This webinar instructs parents and caregivers on how to identify warning signs of increasing mental health challenges. Particular attention will be paid to helping youth cope with the impact of COVID-19 health measures on their mental health. Parents and caregivers will also be equipped with resources including strategies they can impart to youth to help them cope through life’s challenges.
