Our Panelists:

Trudee Romanek is an editor as well as an award-winning writer. As a former editor for Owl Books and Kids Can Press, and also as author of many non-fiction books for young readers, she was deeply involved in ensuring a good fit between text and illustrations. These days Trudee’s writing and editorial focus is on works for the stage. Her plays have been featured at the New Canadian Works Festival in Calgary, Barrie’s Theatre by the Bay, and at Theatre on the Ridge’s “Something from Nothing” presentation as well as their Snapshot Festival. Trudee is a member of Canscaip, the Writers Union of Canada, and the Playwrights Guild of Canada. She also co-hosts Stage Whispers, a podcast about theatre in Central Ontario.  Her webiste is https://www.trudeeromanek.com/

Linda has been a graphic designer for 25 years. With her Teaching & Training Adults and Creativity, Innovation & Change Certificate from Penn State University, she taught design students at Barrie’s Georgian College. She’s been a working member of the Barrie Arts Committee and a founding member and organizer for Word Up, a local all genres reading series since 2014.
When she’s not drawing caricatures at private functions or festivals, Linda’s in her studio. Her work incorporates themes of loss and spirit, with concerns for our climate and biodiversity.
