About this event
The Dieppe Blue Beach Every Man Remembered project will honour every soldier from The Royal Regiment of Canada who participated in World War II’s ill-fated, Dieppe Raid. Using various Genealogy methods, this enormous research project is nearing completion, and will conclude with a commemorative book sharing the personal stories of these heroes. The presentation will provide an overview of “The Royals” at Dieppe, and the Genealogy sources that helped move this project forward.

About Jayne Poolton-Turvey
Born in Toronto, Jayne graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television Arts. She landed a job right out of school at the Global Television Network, working on prime time television shows.
After the Turvey family moved north to the Barrie/Orillia area, Jayne worked at radio stations, KICX 106 in Orillia and B101 in Barrie, as well as on two television shows for Discovery Channel.
Jayne co-authored the award-winning book, Destined To Survive, which is the war-time memoir of her father, Jack Poolton, who was a soldier captured in the Dieppe Raid during World War II and who was a prisoner of war in Germany for nearly three years. It was a life-changing experience for her.
For the past 19 years, Jayne has worked at the Orillia Public Library as the Community Services Coordinator, where she organizes events, programming and a Genealogy Club.
